Hi, my name is Adam Ferguson and I was appointed by Dr. Tom Stevens as the Regional Coordinator for Region 4. I am a student at the University of South Carolina, where I'm in my fourth year studying electrical engineering and philosophy. I was born in 1984 in South Carolina, and I have been living here my entire life. I have also enjoyed reading and learning new things, which is how I began to get interested in politics. I've also followed the elections and watched the news to follow the country's daily politics. For many years I considered myself a Republican simply because I agreed with what I had been told that they stood for. It wasn't until recently that my eyes began to open. As I gained more knowledge, I began to see that the Republican party did not accurately represent my political philosophy. After my awakening, I considered myself an independent leaning toward the right. Finally, as I learned more and more, I found that the LP would be the best way for me to express my beliefs and to try to make this country as great as it once was. I believe that unity in the form of the LP will create a strong political alternative to the dominant two party system that currently plagues our country. Through this party, the American people are able to choose a political party that actually believes in the United States Constitution. By informing people that they do have a choice beyond the Dems and GOPs, we can put a stop to the infringement on civil liberties that is overwhelming us. I'm glad to have the opportunity to serve with fellow LFC members, and I thank Tom Stevens for allowing me this opportunity. I hope that I will be able to enhance our discussions as we try to spread the Libertarian message.
