I was born in Kansas City, Missouri in 1985. I grew up in the Kansas City Metro area, and graduated from Olathe Northwest High School in 2004. I am currently a freshman at Kansas State University from Olathe, Kansas. My family was strong Republican as I grew up, as I was raised in a fundamental Christian household. I supported the Republican ideaologies throughout my youth (especially economic issues). However, as I got older, I found that the Republican platform was far too close-minded regarding social issues, and didn't seem to support actual liberty to the extent I believed it should. Around 2002, I discovered the Libertarian Party and it's stance on issues, and immediately decided that it was the party for me. The government should be limited but still fulfill basic responsibilities. It is the closest major party to supporting true liberty while being reasonable about what duties it has and what duties it doesn't. When I graduated in May of 2004, I became much more politically minded; by the time I started at KSU in the fall, I was actively promoting Libertarianism among my friends and family. I convinced several friends of mine to vote for Michael Badnarik in 2004 by merely mentioning some of his stances on certain issues. These people didn't even know about the Party and that they did not have to vote for the lesser of two evils. This opened my eyes to the fact that not very many people know about the Libertarian Party, and that there must be many more people who would vote for freedom, but do not know of any other choices than the two major parties. I spend a lot of time online writing websites and managing them as well. I am an unemployed computer programmer, so most of my time developing my skills goes into websites. I am an avid soccer fan (go KC Wizards!) and poker player. I would like to become more active in publicizing the Libertarian Party to people who do not know what the party's stance is on many political issues. If only more people knew that there was a political party that shares their ideas, the Libertarian Party would be a much more popular and viable party.
