Student Contact From The Columbia College Libertarians At Columbia University. Hi Libertarian Freedom Council, I am the first generation American son of two Italian immigrants who came to this country for what they thought would be a short stay and never ended up leaving. I feel that this quasi-immigrant view has played a large part in my being a libertarian. I grew up in Silicon Valley, California and now go to Columbia University where I study neuroscience and behavior as well as political science. I have been a libertarian since my political awakening some time during high school, and have only become more adamant of my beliefs the more I learn. I am a firm believer that libertarian ideals and their public policy outcomes are not extreme, and moreover, if presented well, are incredibly persuasive and enticing. On campus, I am involved with the Students for Sensible Drug Policy, acting as their director of lobbying, and with the College Libertarians, where I serve as President. I am proud to be a part of the Libertarian Freedom Council, and thankful for its existence.
