Mike Reid
Executive Vice President
(Pennsylvania)

My name is Michael Reid. I live in Philadelphia and recently received my Associates degree in General Studies from Valley Forge Military College from which I graduated Summa Cum Laude and 2nd in my class. I am currently in the process of attaining a Bachelors degree in Communications, with a minor in Public Relations from Chestnut Hill College. As for the future, I plan to educate myself on as many topics as possible, with a strong focus on politics.

After the events of 9/11, I started paying more attention to issues affecting our nation and to the complexity of the political situation in Iraq. During this process, I became aware of a political candidate by the name of Ron Paul, whose policies immediately interested me. I was impressed with his commitment to limited government and to his support for individual freedom. I also appreciated his anti-war stand. I got involved with the Greater Philadelphia Meetup Group for Ron Paul and attended a speech given by Dr. Tom Stevens, the Political Consultant to the Paul For President Coalition and the President of the Libertarian Freedom Council.

Dr. Stevens helped me to realize that change is possible and that my involvement fighting for liberty in America can make a difference. He explained libertarian philosophy to me and helped me to see how closely libertarianism is to my own thinking on most issues. He has devoted many hours to help me understand the political system and has inspired me to want to further develop my leadership skills and to grow as a person. He is one of the most loyal and devoted friends I have ever had and I am grateful to be lucky enough to have him in my life.

Dr. Stevens is one of our best hopes for restoring liberty in America and the Libertarian Freedom Council is a great vehicle for bringing about that goal. So when Tom offered me the opportunity to serve the LFC in the position of Executive Vice-President, I jumped at the opportunity. I look forward to working closely with Dr. Stevens and with the all the members of the LFC.

I am honored to be in this position. I am aware of the challenges that await me and I am ready to take them on. I believe we can restore liberty to this country and can restore pride in what it means to be an American.
