RESOLUTION:
to adopt the following Final Proposed Goals
as the formal purposes and goals of the Libertarian
Freedom Council:
1. To recruit, endorse and promote the candidacies of
charismatic,
intelligent, and attractive individuals
to
run for elective office as Libertarians;
2.
To write and work for the adoption of a new proposed
platform
for the Libertarian Party that will set forth
the
core ethical and moral principles of libertarian
philosophical
thought without going into specific
detail
regarding the application of those principles
and
their effect on public policy;
3.
To lobby for the elimination of the requirement
that
prospective members be required to sign the
Oath
as a prerequisite for membership in the
Libertarian
Party replacing it with an Affirmation
that
the applicant for LP membership is in general
agreement
with the core ethical and moral principles
of
libertarian philosophical thought;
4.
To welcome within our ranks all libertarian and
libertarian-leaning
individuals who are willing to
work
within the structure of the Libertarian Freedom
Council
to promote liberty and to help make the
Libertarian
Party a more viable political entity;
5.
To encourage young professionals, students and
entrepreneurs
who consider themselves libertarian to
develop
their leadership potential and understanding
of
libertarian principles;
6.
To educate the public about libertarianism
presenting
them with a positive image of libertarian
philosophy
and of libertarians in general;
7.
To feature on our website articles, links,
information
and news about libertarianism and
the
Libertarian Party;
8.
To provide our endorsement to candidates running for
office
so long as those candidates agree to work for the
adoption
of issues of concern to us and agree to mention
our
endorsement on their campaign literature and at
their
website;
9.
To support the efforts of students and faculty members
to
organize successful libertarian organizations on their
respective
campuses;
10.
To offer managerial skills, leadership, and staff
to
libertarian organizations, groups, and entities in
need
of such support services;
11.
To liaison with libertarian, capitalist, secessionist,
nationalist,
and freedom oriented political parties,
organizations
and movements throughout the world with
the
goal of organizing an umbrella organization containing
such
groups that will help them organize conferences,
discover
common ground and support each others' efforts;
and
12.
To make the Libertarian Freedom Council an effective
political
organization run in accordance with the
leadership
principle and committed to bringing together
its
members in the spirit of cooperation, friendship,
and
mutual respect.
